Trip budget
A planning range for a whole trip — flights plus everyday spend.
How the estimate works
The estimate splits a trip into two parts: what you spend on the ground each day, and your flights. The daily figure blends lodging, food, local transport and a little for activities, then scales by your travel style and how expensive the destination is.
- Travel style sets the daily baseline — from budget stays and street food to comfortable hotels or the high end.
- Destination adjusts that baseline up or down: the same style costs more in a pricey city than a value one.
- Flights are added on top, per person, so a family's total reflects everyone's airfare.
Treat the result as a planning range to pressure-test your plans, not a precise quote. Two specifics — travel insurance and lounge access — are easy to forget; see when travel insurance is worth it and whether a lounge pass pays off.
